The Cut, a site known for its time-lapse series that features a century-wide coverage of beauty has recently ventured to highlight Ethiopian beauty for the past 100 years.
Interestingly enough, Ethiopian beauty mirrors the transition of 100 years of black American beauty but in reverse. Natural hair styles are highlighted at the beginning of the century in the 1910s and move on to sleeker straighter hair in the 2000s. Still cute!

Lovely.
I love Cut’s 100 years of beauty videos! They are so diverse! This is gorgeous, the styles look so ahead of the times (1910s-1950s).
Beautiful hairstyles but why did they transition away from natural hairstyles? Oh.. and the model is so pretty!
unless you are in addis abeba i think most people actually have natural styles, like curly hair and traditional+modern style braids
i would have loved to see more traditional ethopian hairstyles…too much to ask? biko next time let ethiopians tell their own story…
very nice. I feel for the model though. the risk of heat damage.
shoutout to the heat damage.
