Are you not in the mood to “super stretch” your hair as a preparation for a style? Do you want to rock your kinks, coils, or semi-stretched tresses in a style other than the usual afro or puff? Then, check out these looks for inspiration:
1. Quick & Easy Textured Bun
No need for threading, banding, or blow drying. Using an old braid out or twist out, you can recreate this look that Taiwo is wearing. What’s more? It is great for the humid days.
2. Side Swoop and a Bun
For this look, you don’t need to prep with a blow dryer, defined twist out, or defined braid out. Bola’s beautiful texture shines through in this beautiful side swoop and a bun. Yours can too with a few bobby pins and a knee high.
3. Spill-Over Updo
Kay Koil was caught in the rain which led her to create this spill-over updo (see the bottom photo). All you will need are a few bobby pins while your natural kinks or coils are left out on top.
4. Stretched Wash and Go
Are you tired of your usual wash and go? Well, in this tutorial, NaturalMe4C shows you how to get a little more body in that style. You will need some clips or satin scrunchies for a very slight 5- to 7-minute stretch.
5. Quick Pompadour Updo
For this style, you can start from an old twist out or braid out that has shrunken. You will need several bobby pins to recreate Msbrightlights93’s updo.
6. Quick Afro Updo
Are you having a bad hair day and don’t have time to wash and stretch? Then check out the super simple updo MissBeeline demonstrates above. All you will need is a pretty headband similar to the one she is wearing.
Ladies, how do you rock your natural kinks, coils, and curls?
Ummmm. Is it just me? Most of these were already stretched due to the previous style. The title is misleading.
I really like the first one, I am going to try it, thanks1
LOL. The first video I play (5. Quick Pompadour), she emphasizes you need STRETCHED hair. It’s still a cute style.
Nice selection! All are do able for me. I love wearing my hair in textured updos. It really showcases my 4c texture. Naturalme4c’s stretched wash n go is beautiful! That is exactly how my wash n gos look and her technique is the same as mine as well.
Sorry I didn’t me to thumbs down, I meant to thumbs up.
Gorgeous hairstyles!
These styles “don’t require stretching” yet at least half of these styles are done on stretched hair… fix the title?
I’ve got a couple of videos and blog posts of styles that required no stretching. Check em out 😉
