All you need for this detangler are coconut oil, olive oil, and melted shea butter. Apply this mixture to dry or damp hair, allow it to set, and then proceed to finger detangle. (Leaving coconut oil on dry hair overnight has been demonstrated to reduce combing damage.) (Source)
Apply this to dry hair and allow it to penetrate overnight the day before you shampoo. Research has shown that coconut oil can help to reduce hygral fatigue of the hair when used in this manner. (Source)
3. Deep conditioner and 4. Leave-in Conditioner
Mix the aloe vera gel and coconut oil together then apply to damp (not soaking wet) hair after shampooing. You can leave in the conditioner or rinse it out after 20 minutes, depending on which you prefer.
5. Moisturizing Spritz
1 part aloe vera gel
1 part water
Put the aloe vera gel and water into a spray bottle. Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients thoroughly, and you’re done! Spray the moisturizer onto dry hair when needed. Be sure to store the bottle in the refrigerator to prolong the shelf life.
6. Whipped butter
Mix the ingredients together using a hand mixer on low speed. Apply this whipped butter to freshly washed damp hair for locking in moisture or use it for twisting.
7. Oil sealant
If you prefer sealing with oils, then go straight for it. Apply olive oil to damp hair to seal in moisture.
8. Curly pudding
Mix the ingredients together and apply to wet hair for curl definition or to set twists for a twist out.
