Introduce yourself!
K: My name is Khedesha. Affectionately called kheddi/khedz and since lately Khe-Diiva. I am 24 years of age. I was born in and reside in Jamaica. I hold a degree in Banking and Finance, but I have a passion for fashion! I love to design and have my outfits custom made. ๐
Why did you make the decision to go natural?
K: I have been natural all my life and I have stayed natural because to me it is easier to maintain and handle. There is so much you can do with your natural hair that you wouldnโt be able to do if your hair was permed.
How would you describe your texture?
K: My hair texture is soft and thick. It would probably fall under the 4A categoryโฆit gets really curly when wet and it shrinks A LOT. It can seem at times to be heaven sent and thatโs on a good day when itโs combed, and then you have those days when it seems like itโs about to drive me crazy.
Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
K: My styling regimen over the month is normally rope twistsโฆand when my hair isnโt in twists I normally wear it in a bun because thatโs the only way I can manage it. I just recently started using the African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Leave-In Conditioner treatment and the African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Silky Edges treatment.
What does wash day look like for you?
K: A typical wash day for me takes up about 3โ4 hours. I normally have to detangle first before shampooing, which I normally do 2โ3 times depending on how greasy my hair is. Then I deep condition with the African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Leave-In treatment, condition, part my hair in segments, and do big twists.
Describe your favorite go-to hairstyle for days when you donโt have a lot of time to style.?
K: My favorite go-to hairstyle for days when I donโt have time to style is a simple bun.
How do you combat shrinkage?
K: I combat shrinkage by using the blow dryer. Before using the blow dryer I use the Profectiv Hair Moisturizer to protect from the heat.
What are some of your problem areas (if any) that require special care and attention?
K: My main problem area is tangling. My hair tangles really easily, so most of my time and focus is spent on detangling and keeping my ends moist.
What are 2 doโs for your texture?
K: Two doโs for my texture are lots of moisture and deep conditioning treatments to protect the hair from breakage.
What are 2 donโts for your texture?
K: One donโt is never try to comb or detangle dry hair.
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
K: I donโt have a blog, but my Twitter and Instagram are: @Khe_Diiva_.
LOOOOVE your style girl. My family lives in Westmoreland, JA. Good to see a natural not โcreamโ their hair and it looks healthy and plenty! ๐ rock it!
Beautiful hair!

I wish i had someone to twist my hair like that! would take me days to do one set lol. Beyond gorgeous!
Beautiful hair and fantastic hair styles!!!
So much hair!!! So lovely!
Wow!!! Thats a lot beautiful hair, and your twists are really nice
Her twist are the best I have ever seen on natural hair!! Did she do them herself or went to salon?
I can do them but My friend who is a hair stylist does my hair
Beautiful hair! I love how she starts with flat twists. It makes it look like small cornrows.
insane! tons of beautiful, healthy, and shiny hair!
Are your rope twists done on your natural hair, or are they extensions? I do my own twists, but they are much larger. When I try to make them smaller, my twists twist up on themselves forming little spirals. I canโt get them to lay straight except when I get my hair twisted in a shop with extensions. Any advice?
Yes Mackenzie they are done on my own natural hair and when I do them myself it takes hours and they get curls too so I normally use a flat iron to kinda straighten the curls
You could also do individual braids. You braid from the root about half an inch or so the make the three strands of hair in to two, then do two-strand twist until you get to the the end. I THINK this is what the Senegalese twists are.
I love your hair . I have the exact same issues with my hair . Its also long and takes about the same amount time when I wash it . Ive been using Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream but its been had to source sometimes .Iโm gonna try the African pride brand and see how that works out for me . Proof that natural is beautiful ..
Natural hair looks good on you diva! I especially love the twist styles you do, absolutely gorgeous. Keep on growing your lovely, strong, long hair girlfriend! ^_^
@Mackenzie Milks, make sure youโre actually doing the rope twist technique where you twist each strand between your fore thumb and index finger while your pulling each strand into a twist.
Beaut Kheddi!!!!
Khedz, your natural hair looks great. I myself went natural about a year ago and this was the best decision I made. Your twists looks absolutely amazing.
