They all look FABULOUS!!! So many women rocking the vintage dresses and pompadours!! Makes me want to move to New York, seems like naturals scene is really happenin’!
Btw, Can’t wait for you to post photos from Talia Waajid Christmas event here in Chicago!
my hair is really damaged, i used to have very full but stubborn hair but rigth now it’s all thinned out and breaking. is there anything i can do to make it all better? especially the front i’m going bald in front. i need super help. do you think my age will have a barrier as to growing my hair back? i’m 28 years old and in Nigeria.
Hi
Have you tried castor oil on your bald spots? castor oil is good for thickness and growth.

This is my hair from July 24-November 2, you can check out my inexpensive (99 cent store lover here!) and easy regimen video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw5JIvGZo1k
Hope this helps.
Hi Kuluwa, 28 is very young so no, that should NOT be a barrier. The tips on this site should help you but basically: drink LOTS of water, moisturize your hair, comb it GENTLY, and do NOT PULL or BRAID tightly. Find an accomplished braider who does not have to pull to make a neat style. It sounds like you have traction alopecia, which means hairloss from pulling. Do not do overly tight braided styles. Wash your scalp only when it’s dirty. I wash w/ black soap, you know the stuff that grandmas use! 🙂 Moisturize w/water and seal it… Read more »
WOW these women are TRULY beautiful … these photos brought tears to my eyes.… the different shades of brown, textures of hair, styles just shows how diverse and wonderful and beautiful women of color really are.…. blessings my sisters… I LOVE BEING NATURAL

so much beautiful hair, wish I was there!!
i loved these pics. great to see beautiful women of color with the hair the texture it grows out of their heads and making it look fierce and glorious! inspiring me all over again.
I love NYC! So many eclectic styles in hair and fashion. I am looking through the pictures to see which hairstyles I can try 🙂
These ladies are all GORGEOUS! It cracks me up that so many black men hate on our natural hair when there are beauties like this walking around everywhere. Whoever said that ladies need to have light skin, and straighter hair to be beautiful is a damn fool. FAB-U-LOUS, ladies. Fierce! (end mini-rant).
Kuluwa,
Check out this blog:

Good luck on your journey.
The only ones I recognize are Naptural85, Taren, and the lovely ladies from UrbanBushBabes.
It seems like it was a great event. Lovely pics.
loll ol crazy Ahsiek1118 is there looking fab.. check her out on YT great hair tuts
My heart just sings!! I love what my eyes behold: confidence, acceptance, pride, beauty, and sisterhood. Awesome!
Hi Kuluwa,
I really can’t give solid advice without seeing your hair. Why don’t you send a picture to me as well as your current regimen and let me take a look. My email: chyscurlz(at)gmail(dot)com.
I’m Nigerian as well and even though I don’t live there now, I have an idea of things available on the ground and we can start working on getting you a fabulous (not stubborn) head of hair.

The unique fashion and gorgeous natural hair is a great combo! These NY ladies are on point!
These women look GOOD!
I see Karen, founder of Karen’s Body Beautiful in the pink dress with the gorg fro!
Yep, that’s her alright. And the couple times I’ve been to the store and seen her fro I would just stare at it. She’s as humble as ever.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW seriously this is the most stunning collection of natural haired ladies i’ve seen ever!
This! I’m about to fall over from all this gorgeousness, confidence, positivity, support, FAB style, and diversity in color & hair textures. OMG I want to print all of these photos out, blow them up, and make a gallery somewhere!
It’s such a blessing to see us embracing us. Love it!
That seemed like an fun event to be at oh well I’ll just enjoy thru the photos :). All of the women in the pictures are gorgeous with all of that natural diversity in each head.
Love the shoes the lovely lady (in pink & mint green- page 3) is wearing! omg I can’t stop looking at these lovely ladies’ hair styles AND fashion styles!
Kinda inspires me be patient with my hair and learn how to see it in a different light. I keep going back and forth between locs and loose natural hair — without really giving my hair a chance to show off/be free, lol.
schuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppssssssssss. WTH! How is it I keep missing these things? I swear I signed up to to receive their events since the last one that was posted on here, I think that was way back in May. Why wasn’t it posted on the BGLH nyc pg on the blog? Here I went to a small meet up (nice meeting you ladies), but there was a bigger one???? WTH. I’m vex, and still loving the pics.…but I’m still vex.
