Where do you live?
B: Bedstuy Brooklyn, NY. I am a Creative Artist (actress, singer, emcee, commercial print model & hair model.)
Why did you go natural?
B: I made the decision to go natural because I came to the realization that my hair in its natural state was more beautiful than what I had been rocking. I transitioned 9 years ago. I started wearing my hair in braids. I did that for a couple of months until i decided to cut it all off! I rocked a short curly do for a month & then finally I loced it up.
In what ways (if any) has going natural affected you?
B: So many ways
Higher Self Esteem: I have never felt better about myself & my hair. Ever.
Patience: The transition to growing natural hair can be very tedious… especially if you want long natural hair.
Opportunities: Having natural hair has opened up doors I’d never even thought about going through.
How would you describe your hair?
B: My hair is very soft and thick. It frizzes easily. It’s light weight and naturally brown from the middle to the tips of my locs.
What’s your regimen?
B: My regimen is very simple. I wash, condition & twist with any of these products.
Shampoo: Jane Carter’s Hydrating Invigorating Shampoo, Shea Butter Shampoo By Shea Moisture, Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castille Liquid Soap, Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Herbal Shampoo
Conditioner: Jane Carter’s Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner, Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave In Conditioner, Shea Moisture’s Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner
Twist: Soft Sheen-Carson’s Let’s Jam Extra Hold
What mistakes have you made with your hair that you’ve learned from?
B: The one mistake I made was not starting my natural hair journey sooner.
What’s the best/most effective thing you do for your hair?
B: Leave it alone. When I’m not doing photoshoots or shows… I just let it be. Lol
Is there a blog/webpage where we can find you?
B: My personal webpage is www.iambrandii.com and check out the flyest lyrical females from Brooklyn in the hip-hop game @ www.blakorfan.com
Anything else you want to add?
B: If you are in Brooklyn or visiting and need your hair done, you can find my stylist, SABINA (the best in BK, maintaing my locs for my entire journey) @
